Library Committee

Rationale

An adage attributed to Henry Ford states, "Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success." This principle underscores the importance of collaboration in effective library management.

The Library Committee serves as a vital mechanism for fostering teamwork among librarians, faculty, administrators, and students to ensure the delivery of efficient, relevant, and responsive library collections and services.

As a standing advisory body in higher education institutions, the Library Committee deliberates on policies, programs, and strategic directions concerning the library. It formulates recommendations and resolutions for consideration by institutional authorities.

In compliance with national standards and guidelines from CHED and PAARL, the establishment of a Library Committee composed of academic and administrative representatives is essential.

Thus, the creation of the UCU Library Committee is imperative to serve as a communication and decision-support body linking the library with the academic community it serves.
